Happy 2nd Birthday Jellybean!

Dear Jellybean,

I decided to take your picture on your most special day. Ruby and I love you so very much and we hope you enjoy your new cat bed. We sang you Happy Birthday three times. Ruby promises to get you a new toy after she gets over her cold. Hope you have a wonderful day with Sam and Thor and that you don’t get into too much trouble.

Much Love,

Ruby and Simon

Simon San Diego

Carmen San Diego and Math Blaster started it all for me. Engineering that is. I was amazed at the power of computers back in the 90s and I still am. Graduate work is a lot like detective work and fighting off aliens with math. Night and day, I hunt spurs – charting new paths through wireless traffic. As a result or my Master’s work, I’m making my first trip to California, San Diego to be precise. I’m presenting at Radio Wireless Week, a very important conference. Could January come any sooner?

The End of an Era, A New Beginning

I can’t believe my bachelor’s degree is finally coming to a close. I can’t say it happened that fast, because it was jam-packed with wonderful and challenging experiences. But with the Iron Ring, we’re now supposed to believe that we’re just starting out in the world. For all my friends who have experienced this already, I fully understand how difficult it is. Change is good and bad, but I’m looking forward to using all my new skills for the things I really want in life. That’s what school is really for no doubt? But the trouble is finding that ‘X’ marks the spot. I’ve found multiple X’s. Some I’ve dug up to find gold that doesn’t get one very far, or gold that is a little tainted. I’ve even learned that gold is not the most important in life, but perhaps what one experiences along the way. I look forward to new adventures and facing new storms as they come!
